Our topic for the first half of the autumn term was toys. We looked at New toys, Old toys, Bikes and Teddies. We watched Magic Grandad go into the past to find out how toys have changed over the years.
In Literacy we tried hard to sound out words in our writing, add full stops and capital letters and read our own work. We also practised our book band words to help us with our reading.
In Numeracy we practised counting and ordering numbers and learning our Number bonds to 5 and 10. We looked at different coins, making amounts and giving totals. We learnt how to record addition and subtraction sums.
In Science we investigated materials and learnt about forces with our push and pull toys and magnets.
In the Computer suite we wrote our names using the shift key for a capital letter and drew some fabulous pictures using a variety of tools on Dazzle and researching our topic of materials.
In Art we looked at sculptures and made our own natural sculptures. I was very impressed with all your wonderful homework!
In addition to all this, the children also enjoyed bike week, the school disco, the cinema trip and a teddy bears picnic!!
