Welcome to our Spring Term website pages. Well the weather is not spring like yet, but hopefully all our fabulous photographs and captions will lift your spirits!
The start of the year began with our exciting 'Around the World' topic. We have visited Africa, China and India. Mrs. Rothwell (who works in Year 6, in the Juniors) gave a fascinating talk about her trip to China. She brought with her a huge variety of artefacts for us all to enjoy. We based our class assembly on China and enjoyed demonstrating our dragon dancing to the school. In the canteen some of us tasted a range of Chinese cuisine. Miss Cox was very impressed with the Chinese leaflets we made, as we found images using the internet and added them to our writing.
In the India topic we explored print making and produced some excellent work. We really persevered with our Mendhi patterns and the end results were detailed and intricate.
Science and Technology Week has been one of our highlights of the term. We particularly enjoyed making the gloop with cornflour and water and using a push force to make rockets fly. Some of us even managed to make a rocket land on the Reception roof! Working with our buddies in the hall was very exciting.
Toast Week again was well supported by all our children. A big thank you to School Council and parent helpers who donated bread, butter and time.
Congratulations to Lewis, Chloe and Abbie who won 'Bike-it' goody bags for their sticker designs which promoted cycling.
