What a busy half term! We have been on our virtual travels around the world. After reading "The Great Round the World Balloon Race" we enjoyed finding out about places such as China, Africa and India. Mrs Rothwell brought in all of her wonderful artefacts from China which really brought the topic to life. In class, we produced some fantastic, informative leaflets advertising some of China's main attractions. We also worked hard to produce some beautiful Chinese dragons out of clay.
In literacy, we have enjoyed reading some traditional tales from other countries and did some fantastic collages to illustrate the African story of "Why Frog and Snake can't be friends".
In SEAL, we have been thinking about what goals we hope to achieve this year. We have displayed them in the classroom and will be checking later in the term to see who has managed to reach their goal.
In RE, we are learning about the stories Jesus told. Bobby and Jack did an amazing job acting out the story of the Lost Son and we all had a turn at role play working in our groups.
Science and technology week was exciting and we did some real scientific experiments. We loved making the "gloop" which felt so dry and wet all at the same time and it was fun setting the rockets off into the sky on space for sport. In the hall, there was lots for us to experiment with including magnets and the light table.
