Spring Term in Nursery
We have already had a busy start to spring. We began thinking about winter. We sorted clothes to keep us warm, joined in with winter songs and rhymes, explored how ice melts and made some bird feeders to look after our feathered friends in the garden.
Science and Technology week has been a fun and exciting week for all. The children enjoyed spending time in the school hall: programming the Beebots, investigating the dark den, making shadows and exploring mirrors. We were all amazed by the interesting facts and fabulous images about British wildlife Steven showed us during our Wild Workshop assembly. Back in Nursery we have looked at different materials, explored the magnets, investigated how sand changes, used the cameras and enjoyed getting wet and messy in the garden!
For the rest of the Spring Term we will begin our topic ‘Traditional Tales’. We will be making porridge with Goldilocks, building houses with the Three Little Pigs, Trip Trapping over the Troll’s bridge with The Three Billy Goats Gruff and running as fast as we can with The Gingerbread Man!
In early February we will also be celebrating Chinese New Year. We will taste some Chinese food, act out the story and dance with a dragon!
