It’s hard to believe that we are already in the summer term! Here's what we will be up to.....
In the summer term, we begin by learning all about Spring and new life. We will be looking carefully for signs of Spring all around us such as daffodils, blossom and baby animals. We will be finding out the names of baby farm animals that are born in the Springtime and looking back at when we were little, observing how we have changed. We will continue to observe and look after our tadpoles too and watch them grow into frogs!
The traditional tale we will be sharing with the children is Jack and The Beanstalk. The children will be making beanstalks, cutting leaves and playing with various types of beans. They will plant their own bean, just like Jack, and watch them grow. We will also be planting a selection of fruit and vegetables and look after them by giving them plenty of water.
Later on in the term, we will be learning all about Minibeasts. The children will be encouraged top look out for them in the nursery garden and at home too! We will be observing them closely, looking in books to find more information about them and creating our own Minibeasts using various resources.
At the end of the term we are looking forward to ‘Arts Week’ which has a ‘Circles’ theme and we will also be preparing for our Summer Concert.
Here’s to another busy term! Fingers crossed the weather will be kind to us too!
