Reception Summer Term Trip to Knowsley Safari Park

We had a fabulous day out and are extremely proud of all our children for their super behaviour. Other visitors to the Safari Park and people who work there commented on how sensible and well behaved our children were. Our day was action packed and included a 'Game Drive', where our coaches took us around the Safari Park. We saw tigers, lions, various types of deer, african elephants, emus, osteriches, rhinos, zebras and many more! During this time we thought about the animals physical appearances, what they eat, how they move etc.

Another exciting experience was 'Safari School'. Here we found out about lots of animals including the difference between african and asian elephants, deer and antelope horns and we even had the opportunity to touch a real life milk snake, rat, african snail and a millipede!

Our final planned activity was the 'Sealion Show'. Reggie and Biffo were fantastic at balancing balls catching hoops clapping their flippers and showing us the difference between seal and sealion movements! We still managed to fit in a picnic lunch and visit many other animal enclosures where we got to see close up the meerkats, giraffes, peacocks and bugs in the bug house. Wow What a fun filled learning experience we had! Thank you to all our parents for your continued support with our animals topic.
