It has been a great start to the Autumn Term in Room 7. We are all settled in and are enjoying Year 1. Through our topic work, we have learned about colour and materials by looking closely at the work of the Artists Pied Mondrian and Andy Goldsworthy. We really enjoyed creating our own artwork related to both. We explored and observed our local area when we walked to St. Johns Church. There we learned about what it is to be part of a church. We also learned about Baptism when we did our own in our classrooms. When we were History Detectives finding out about the history of our school, it was great looking at old pictures and going on a History walk around our grounds, comparing it now and then. In Music we have been using our bodies as percussion instruments and in PE we have been getting better at Gymnastics. Haven’t we been busy?
As well as all this we have been developing our English and Maths skills through exciting and challenging activities. Please enjoy looking at our photos below.
