Spring Term 2012 Mrs Rimmer and Room 10

What a busy half term! we have been finding out about our new topic 'The five senses'. We started with sight and made our own 3D glasses, we then found out about hearing and went on a sound walk, now we are finding out about touch making feelie pictures! We will continue with taste and smell after the break. We were fortunate to have visiting speakers, Mr Brown demonstrated his talking computer and Mr Powell taught us some sign language which we have been using in our classroom.

We have had a Science and Technology Week and we enjoyed doing experiments in the classroom and taking our paper aeroplanes and rockets outside!

In Literacy we have been reading fiction, non-fiction and even dictionaries! We have been writing non-fiction leaflets and trying to write our own stories.

We are becoming more confident with our number doubles and number bonds to 10, we have been playing with and finding out about 2D and 3D shapes. In data handling we have made block graphs, tally charts and pie charts!
