Summer Term Curriculum

We are already off to an exciting start with our animals topics!  We will be learning about all different kinds of animals including pets, farm animals, wild animals, minibeasts, endangered animals and sea creatures.  During our topic about farm animals we will visit a local farm and learn about the animals and how they are looked after.

Our SEAL themes this term are Relationships for the first half term followed by Changes in the second half term.  This links in very well with the transition from Reception to Year 1. Lots of transitional activities will take place including meeting the new teacher and spending time in their new classrooms.

During the first half term all of our reception children will have some sessions with a dance specialist teacher who will be working with the children to create an animal themed dance.

During the second half term we will also enjoy a fun filled Art's Week with lots of creative activities taking place, the theme for this is called circles and lines.

We will continue to keep you informed about weekly teaching and learning and events with the 'Our News/Your News books.  Please encourage your child to write a sentence for their news as we love to share these books with the children.

Our school is now using Twitter as an effective communication tool for all of our parents.
