Welcome to Room 5’s class page!
I believe that Year 1 is an exciting year for the children as they get to build on all the learning and play that they experienced in Reception. I love teaching Year 1 and seeing the progress that they make, both academically and personally.
In Room 5, we love to ‘give it a go’! We support each other and encourage our friends to keep trying. We like to be proud of our achievements, celebrate our strengths and love seeing our hard work on our ‘WOW’ Wall! We also celebrate hard work through ‘Going for Green’ stickers, the chance box, reading dog and the bears.
As the PSHE and School Council subject leader, my aim is to provide children with plenty of experiences and opportunities to develop their self-confidence and help them become responsible individuals. This vision is evident in all we do in our classroom. The children understand that our classroom is a safe place to learn and are growing into wonderful, responsible role models for our younger children. I am also a huge football fan (Liverpool, of course!) and am looking forward to continuing sharing my passion for the sport with the children during our lunchtime football club.
It is important that you get to see all of the lovely activities and learning that takes place in our school and I will continue to tweet and share this with you. So if you don’t already, please make sure you follow us on twitter!
