The OWLS Schools Direst Cluster is a dynamic group of schools offering an outstanding partnership with Edge Hill University. We aim to very high standards of training enabling future teachers to have an excellent start to their teaching careers.
We hope to create an environment in which staff, pupils and trainee teachers alike feel valued and supported.
Our partnership of primary schools comprises a range of school from small village primary schools to large 4 form entry infant and junior schools as well as one form entry schools. We operate across four different education authorities:- Lancashire, Sefton, Liverpool and Wigan.
Our staff have all worked closely with Edge Hill University for many years and have built up excellent relationships with the University.
Trainees will have opportunities to work in 2 of the school within the cluster as well as doing their academic work at the Edge Hill Campus. Edge Hill University will appoint a mentor to work with the school and the trainee. School based mentors are outstanding teachers with a wealth of experience.
Our OWLS cluster will also provides additional enhancement experiences including Early Years, Phonics, Safeguarding, and support with your application for your first job as well as a practice interview.
