Sopwith Camel
Thu 25 Jun 2015Southport Learning Partnership, a network of all the local schools has commissioned a full size World War 1 Sopwith Camel plane for use in a range of curriculum areas.
The aeroplane was officially opened today, Thursday 25th June, on Bedford Park by the Deputy Lord-Lieutenant of Merseyside. Representatives from many of the schools were there to witness this event and even sit in the plane, if they wanted to!

KS1 Sports day
Mon 22 Jun 2015Children in Year 1 and Year 2 had an enjoyable, if cold and windy, Sports Day on Monday 22nd June.
We would like to thank Greenbank High School for allowing us to use their sports field and for the wonderful organisation by the Year 9 Sports Leaders.
The Yellow Team were the Year 1 winners.
The Blue Team were the Year 2 winners.
Overall winners were the Blue Team!!
Well done everyone for taking part and showing good sportsmanship.

Vegetables from our school garden
Fri 19 Jun 2015We have started to harvest our first vegetables this year from our school garden. Children picked peas, beans, iceberg lettuce and dug for potatoes. We then took them to Miss Howard in the canteen so they could be used in our school meals!

China Day in Year 2
Thu 18 Jun 2015Farnborough Road Infant School work closely with the Confucius Institute at Edge Hill University. The children in Year 1 and Year 2 learn simple Mandarin and about Chinese culture.
Year 2 classes had a wonderful day with the Chinese tutors as part of their work on their All Around the World topic.
The children learnt Kung Fu and Chinese paper cutting.

NSPCC
Thu 18 Jun 2015The children and Families of Farnborough Road Infant School raised an amazing £3,469 for the NSPCC.
The children were sponsored to complete a circuit of fun physical activities.
Well done everyone - we are very proud to support the wonderful work of the NSPCC.
