Harvest Festival
Mon 12 Oct 2015John, Tracey and Colin from Southport Foodbank at the Lakeside Christian Centre visited school for our Harvest Assembly. Children brought in a range of food items to support the charity. The Foodbank support our local community and rely on food donations to feed local people in crisis. Thank you to everyone who supported our chosen Harvest charity. If you would like to give regular donations to the Foodbank we have a collection point in the office foyer.
Dear Mrs Taylor
Thank you so much for letting us share your harvest festival assemblies today. They were an absolute delight and the children so well behaved.
We have just weighed the food in our warehouse and it came in at a massive 165kg.
Many thanks again
Colin (and John and Tracey)

Parking Poster Competition
Mon 12 Oct 2015PARKING POSTER COMPETITION
Both Farnborough Road Schools have launched this competition to promote good driving and parking habits in our local community.
We deal with lots of concerns and worries about this matter and we would like to promote some simple rules that will make life better for everyone. The police cannot always attend so it is down to everyone to behave well and think of other people.
We ask everyone to:-
Park away and walk if you can
When you park, please do so carefully and don’t block the pavements
Don’t block drives, even for a short time.
Stay off yellow lines, zig-zags and white ‘H’ bars. These lines are there for a reason!
Farnborough Road is only for permit holders.
Stay out of the school car park
Think about the safety of children at all times!
The children are being asked to design a bright, colourful poster, with the winning design being used for banners, leaflets and posters in and around our school.
PLEASE HELP YOUR CHILD ENTER THIS COMPETITION CLOSING DATE FOR ENTRIES: FRIDAY, 23 OCTOBER

Toast Shop
Thu 08 Oct 2015The School council pupils were up early this morning to butter and sell toast to raise money for our sponsored child Prudence in Zimbabwe.
It was Prudence's birthday this week. She is now 15 years old. From half past eight this morning pupils brought their 20 pence to buy a slice of toast with their siblings and parents. We had lots of lovely comments about our new toast shop. Happy Birthday Prudence!
