Welcome to Farnborough Road Infant School.  We hope that all of the information you will need can be found here.  If you have any questions please contact our school office by e-mail at fris@schools.sefton.gov.uk or by phone on 01704 577637.

SCHOOL TOURS

Miss Sephton takes families on individual tours of the school on weekday mornings at 9:30am or after school at 4pm or 5pm. Please contact the school office on 01704 577637 to arrange a tour on the next available date.  Please note that these tours book up very quickly, particularly in the Autumn Term.

Home visits, stay and play sessions and visits to see your child(ren) in their current nursery will happen in May and June.  All children starting in one of our Nursery or Reception classes in September will have received a transition booklet to complete at home.  Please contact the school office immediately if you would like to apply for a place for your child.

We use Parentpay for most payments to be made to school.  You will be set up for this once your child is admitted to FRIS.

You may occasionally receive a text from us via Teachers2parents, the number that they will come from is 07786201170 and we may occasionally e-mail from message@teachers2parents.co.uk

Parents evening appointments will also be booked via Teachers2Parents, you will receive a link when it is time to book an appointment.

UNIFORM

 

Our school colours are maroon, gold and grey. Gold polo shirts should be worn by Nursery and Infant children.

Only junior pupils may wear white shirts and school ties.

 

All pupils have the option to wear long straight legged grey school type trousers (or grey jogging bottoms- optional for Nursery only).  Girls have a further option of wearing a grey pinafore or skirt and a maroon cardigan or school sweatshirt. Infants can wear short grey trousers with a maroon school sweatshirt.

 

For the Summer there is the option for girls to wear pink/red and white striped or checked dresses.

 

All children should wear sensible school shoes.

We suggest shoes with simple fastenings e.g. Velcro fastenings for our younger pupils. For girls- shoes should have a sensible heels maximum - 2cm. In the summer open-toe sandals must not be worn.

 

Please ensure that all clothing is labelled.  Farnborough sweatshirts, cardigans, polo shirts, summer caps, fleeces, waterproof coats and leaflets for name tapes can be obtained from the schools office.

 

Uniform Shop

 

School uniform is available to order from our online shop paying by debit/credit card, please follow the link below.  Uniform will be sent home via your child’s class, for new families please allow 2 working days before collecting from the school office.

 

Uniform can also be purchased from the school office using cash or cheque, please fill in an order form available in the foyer and make cheques available to ‘FRIS’ during busy periods please allow 2 working days before collection from the office or delivery to your child’s class.

 

P.E. Kit

 

In the infants pupils should wear black shorts and a white T-shirt.  They should also have black pumps available in their PE bags.

 

In the Juniors

 

Black shorts

School T-shirts or plain T-shirts in house colours.

Thin soled pumps or bare feet.

For outdoor activities a tracksuit may be worn in addition to the PE kit. Trainers may also be worn. 

 

Jewellery

 

Children should not wear any form of jewellery whilst at school (with the exception of plain studs to keep open pierced holes in ears).  Stud earrings must be removed or covered by a plaster for all P.E. sessions.

Watches may be worn entirely at parent’s risk.

 

Hair

 

All girls and boys who have hair long enough to tie up should do so for health and safety reasons and to look smart and ready for school.  Hair must be tied up for PE.  Non regulation hair styles are not part of school uniform these include: Patterns cut into hair, hair that is long in parts and very short in others and hair that is a non-natural colour

 

 

Mobile Phones and other electrical equipment are not allowed in school.

Fun 4 Kidz is the breakfast, after school and holiday club that operates at Farnborough Road.  Children are able to attend from the age of 3.
