PSHE Curriculum

At Farnborough Road Infant School we are Growth Mindset champions! We want all our children to love PSHE. We want them to have no limits to what their ambitions are and grow up wanting to be teachers, psychologists, social workers, mental health psychologists, doctors and nurses.

We want all our children to have the best start to life and to learn and apply the skills needed to be responsible adults. We want everyone to learn in a safe space and to know that making mistakes is OK, as long as we try our best. Our vision is that our children grow up to be resilient individuals who want to, and are ready, to make a difference.

Curriculum Intent

Our PSHE curriculum promotes curiosity and empowers our children to become independent and resilient learners.

The FRIS PSHE curriculum not only meets National Curriculum requirements but will provide memorable PSHE lessons that will develop their personal, social and emotional learning and prepare them for the next stage in their education.

For example, road/ rail safety talks and opportunities to practise, buddy class swaps and school trips/ visitors.

Curriculum Implementation

The PSHE curriculum has been carefully built and the learning opportunities and assessment opportunities or each year group ensure  progression and repetition in terms of embedding key learning, knowledge and skills.

For example, friendship week, a whole school growth mindset approach and whole school celebrations.

Curriculum Impact

We strive for every child to achieve their full potential in PSHE and be ready for their next stage in learning and inspire aspirations for the future career paths.

At Farnborough Road Infant School, we are Growth Mindset champions!
