What do people think about FRIS?

Hi Miss Sephton,
I just wanted to feedback (will also do the questionnaire) what a fantastic stay and learn session we had in room 3 this morning. Faye is enjoying her learning with Mrs Beechey and it was so enjoyable to see the activities in practice.
Thank you
Faye Scott Room 3
Morning.
I felt compelled to e-mail to thank you and your amazing staff at First Steps Family Wellbeing Centre for a wonderful Family Fun Day held at school on Wednesday 24th August. I attended with my daughter and grandson, and from the moment we arrived, was blown away by the incredibly happy and welcoming atmosphere and the quality of the varied activities available.
All staff and volunteers simply did not stop smiling and this spread to those visiting too. As a Mental Health First Aider, this stood out as a day which had the potential to be proactive rather than reactive when promoting positive mental health of children and their carers. The potential impact of providing the ability to make contact with people available to support, listen and encourage is immeasurable.
Having the police in attendance, giving everyone the opportunity to meet an officer, sit in the police car and try the sirens was wonderful, emphasising the importance of seeing the police force as an avenue for support and a valued member of the school community.
The ride on train, manned by 'more mature' members of the community provided opportunities for inter-generational communication and again the happiness on the faces of volunteers and visitors was tangible.
The quality of the lunch provided for the children was excellent - a valued resource for many at this difficult time.
This entire event, really was Community Cohesion at its best with the potential for such a positive impact on so many, not just on the day but beyond, highlighting Farnborough Road Infants School as a true beacon of positivity. Long may these events continue!
Many thanks to you all.
Phil Chapman
Dear Mrs Taylor,
As the school year draws to a close, I wanted to take the opportunity to thank you for all you, and your staff have done to welcome and integrate our daughters into the school. It is hard to believe they have only been at Farnborough for a year as they are so settled and happy in the school.
Moving our children from one town to another was really significant for us, we were anxious moving our children out of what we considered to be an excellent school and hoped Farnborough would be a happy environment for our children to transfer to, needless to say it has exceeded hopes and more, your staff have been exceptional.
We have been continually impressed at the quality of education and the extent of extra-curricular activities on offer but even more, we are bowled over by energy, enthusiasm, creativity and commitment from yourself and your staff, it really does shine through and create an outstanding school environment. The level of communication through both dojo and in person is really appreciated, for a school so large we have had no issues in contacting teachers should we need to.
A MASSIVE thank you from us to all the staff at FRIS for this past year, we wish you and all the staff a very restful summer!
Kind regards
Dear Mrs Taylor,
Thank you for inviting me to Year One with my drama workshop
‘The Great Green Forest’
The children certainly know lots of information about how important rainforests are!
Each class created their own unique performance of the story which showcased their high level of creativity mixed in with plenty of enthusiasm!
It was a pleasure to work with them and lovely to receive so many personal thank you’s from the children.
As always, their behaviour during the sessions was outstanding.
Marilyn Fletcher- Hill
Dear Mrs Taylor,
I am writing to thank you for having me in your school to run a Drama Workshop session for Reception.
The children were a pleasure to teach and the staff were welcoming and accommodating.
Without exception, all the children knew the behaviour expectations set within the school and came in calmly; quickly settling into the lesson attentively.
They needed no encouragement to join in and become skilled dramatists!
Each class performed a mini version of the story ’The Lion Inside’ at the end of the workshop.
With kind regards,
Marilyn Fletcher.
The Reception teachers have been audited for the delivery of the baseline assessment today by an NFER assessor. It went extremely well and Dorothy Hart was very impressed not only with the Reception teachers but with how welcoming our office team are, how lovely our school is including the values and ethos she saw on display, and how polite and respectful the children were.
Dear Jenny,
I am writing to thank you for accommodating me in school on both Tuesday and Wednesday this week.
Can I ask you please to pass on my grateful thanks to your SENCO, whose dedication to getting things right for children is very impressive. He was so generous with his time and I found discussion with him most valuable.
Please also thank the classteacher and teaching assistants. They were most helpful in providing assistance during individual assessment work.
You have created a tangibly happy, purposeful and inclusive ethos in school; I shall remember my visit for a long time!
Kind regards,
Ruth

Dear Mrs Taylor,
Thank you for your detailed tour and explanation of your school this afternoon, it was much appreciated.
It was very impressive and well equipped, and had a wow factor to it which far exceeding my expectations. All the staff we came across were all very pleasant and we felt very welcome within the surroundings.
We look forward to our daughter hopefully joining your school at some point in the future.
Kind regards
Myself and my wife wanted to say what a brilliant job you and the staff have been doing throughout this whole period. From the material to support home learning, to getting the school into position to be a safe environment for both staff and the children to continue their learning journey’s. It’s been nothing short of amazing.
In comparison to friends whose children go to different primary/infant schools around the Merseyside and West Lancs area, you guys seem to be leading the way!

Dear Mrs Taylor
I am blown away by the teaching staff in the nursery. I can not believe how settled my daughter is after 3 weeks in her new setting. The transition has been smooth and easy. She adores the teaching staff and assistants.
When I attended the stay and play session on her 1st day, it was clear to see how much each child meant to the nursery staff. There were no favourites, each child was actively encouraged to speak to the group and every child was expected to listen. Such a breath of fresh air to watch each child speak with confidence! Mrs Hookam is like an 'angel in disguise'. She mesmorises me how she interacts with the children.
Sadly I didn't get to see Mrs Tickle in action but my daughter gives her a big hug when she sees her in the play ground.
The nursery assistants are on the ball at all times and ever so friendly. They take their roles seriously and demonstrate such caring attitudes to the children. I can't thank you enough for taking our family on.
Kind regards,
Mrs Clinton
Dear Mrs Taylor
I just wanted to write to you with regards to Miss Jackson in Room 5. My daughter is in this class and she is having a fantastic year! Miss Jackson makes herself available for a quick chat at the drop of a hat and is always keen to help her. She has gone above and beyond, giving up her time, to organise extra maths work for her to do at home and I feel that when I am speaking with her she knows her inside out and is now going to keep me posted on her phonics progress so that I can boost her at home. I wanted to send you this email to show my appreciation for what the school is doing for my children.
My children are absolutely loving their journeys at FRIS, thank you!
Natalie (Parent)
I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the performances by year 1 and Ladybirds. It was lovely to see how the children in year 1 have progressed since they started in reception. Ladybirds class were fantastic as well especially as they are so young and some only started in September.
I know parents look forward to these performances and really appreciate the work that all the staff put in to make them happen.
Also thank you for my Christmas card. I hope everyone has a really lovely Christmas.
Kind regards
Caroline

I was invited to watch the rehearsal of the Year 2 Nativity Play at Liverpool Road Methodist Church this morning by Lesley Cox. I wanted to say how brilliant it was and how the pupils and staff are a credit to you. As retired teacher myself I appreciated the hard work that went on behind the scenes to produce such an effortless performance.
The theme was superb and put such a contemporary slant on a traditional story. The audience were exceptionally well behaved too. What a great advert for the school.
I came away feeling very festive and very impressed.
I wish you, the staff and all the children a very happy Christmas and New Year.
Kindest regards,
Eileen Pennington.

I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed the Deaf Action Assembly last Thursday. The energy & enthusiasm of the children was lovely to watch and it was clear they had enjoyed the sessions with Ian and the team. I haven't seen so many children clearly enjoying and participating in an activity for a while and it was a privilege to be able to join them. Well done to all those who supported these sessions.
Please feel free to pass this on to Ian and the Deaf Action team if this helps support future sessions

I just wanted to express my thanks for the invitations to this years Christmas concerts. I thoroughly enjoyed the reception concert on Thursday and Butterflies concert yesterday.
All the children had obviously worked very hard to learn all the songs and their lines. I was impressed by the confident performances-not easy to do for children who are so young.
Please also pass on my thanks to the staff for all their hard work. It's such a busy time of year and I know that the parents really appreciate the time and effort that the staff put in in order to make these performances possible.
Wishing you a very merry Christmas and best wishes for 2019
Kind regards

Dear Mrs Taylor, Mrs Price, Teachers and Staff,
I want to take this opportunity to thank you personally for the wonderful day I had in attending Governor Day at the school. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming throughout my time at the school, each one of you were friendly and extremely approachable. I would like to congratulate you on the success of Governor Day, I feel I gained a real insight in to the school, it was a privilege to attend classes and meet many of the pupils.
I understand teachers and schools are facing tough challenges now with one thing and another, as a parent-governor who has recently visited the school I would like to say well done! What I witnessed was passionate teaching at all levels, the progress a child makes from the very start once entering Farnborough Road Infant School to the very end as they leave in year 2 is the very best. Thank you for going above and beyond, I am proud my children attend this school and I am proud to play a part in it.
Best Wishes
Helen Harrison.

Dear Mrs Farmer,
On behalf of Tracey and my colleagues on the PD event team at Oxford University Press thanks once again for being our very organised and hospitable host for Tuesday’s event. Please would you pass on our thanks to Mrs Taylor and other members of staff who had been so helpful. The feedback we got from the delegates was really positive, so I’m glad that we were able to offer the opportunity to schools in the area to come along.

Dear Mrs Taylor,
I visited your nursery on two occasions recently to assess a child with additional needs and I wanted to let you know how positive this experience was.
Mrs Hookham and her team, provide a nurturing, calm environment alongside
stimulating and multi-sensory experiences .
I was really impressed by the inclusive atmosphere and the positive approaches to meeting the child's needs.
The subsequent meeting with her parent and grandparent was equally supportive .
I look forward to visiting the nursery again in the Summer term.

Dear Mrs Taylor
Dear Mrs Taylor
we are writing to congratulate your Year 1 pupils on their participation in our celebratory evening of William Shakespeare, No Holds Bard. The children not only performed with enthusiasm and confidence, but were also impeccably behaved throughout the daytime rehearsal and the evening performance, proving to be a credit to your school. They were thoroughly charming onstage and the audience, as you know, were delighted by their performance.
We would like to thank Mrs Fletcher who did a wonderful job in devising the piece, directing the children and performing with them. The piece was sufficiently challenging and was perfectly pitched to their age and ability, providing them not only with knowledge and understanding of Shakespeare's life and work, but also with valuable performance skills which they will be able to further develop in the future.
The children should be really proud of their achievement and we would be grateful if you could pass on the enclosed Performance award Certificates to them from Greenbank High School.
Yours sincerely,
Deborah Bloom Ian Raikes
