Our Ingenious Inventions

I hope this taste of inventing has inspired our winners and everyone who took part in our Science and Technology Week to be the inventors of the future.

Year 1 Shakespeare Drama
Sat 30 Jan 201612 Year 1 children, 3 from each class, were chosen this week to perform a short dramatisation of William Shakespeare's life with Mrs Fletcher as part of the GCSE Drama Evening 'No Holds Bard' at Greenbank High School. Well Done to all our children who took part. They were incredible.
The group then performed it again in school for Year 1 and Year 2 during out 'Star of the Week' praise assembly on Friday.

Mrs Hooton's Chicken Week
Tue 26 Jan 2016This week Mrs Hooton's class are responsible for looking after the Farnborough chickens. 6 children every day will get their turn to help. Can they beat Miss Cox's class and collect more than 20 eggs? -
Bike it !
Fri 22 Jan 2016Two Year 2 children were chosen to attend the Bike it celebration this year at the Ramada with Miss Cox and Mrs Taylor.
As a school we are keen to promote the Health and Well-Being of all our staff, parents and children. We have been a champion of Sefton's Bike it Scheme for a number of years encouraging children to ride their bikes to school for Year One's 'Bike Week', taking part in 'Bling up your bike', many a Bike it Breakfast encouraging parents to leave their cars at home and ride their bikes to school and fabulous Mary Kellend teaching many of children over the years to ride their bikes without stabilisers!
We have achieved our Bronze and Silver Cogs for all our efforts. This year we are 'Going for Gold!'

Miss Cox's Class Looking after the Chickens
Mon 18 Jan 2016Each Year 1 and Year 2 class will have one week to look after our chickens in the Wildlife Area. This week Miss Cox's class have the responsibility of feedings them their food, scraps and grit, providing water and collecting the eggs and taking them to the canteen. Two of the junior children came to help them and give them some top tips.

Toast Shop 12th and 13th January
Sat 16 Jan 2016Thank you for all our children and parents who supported our Toast Shop on Tuesday and Wednesday. School Council children came into school early to butter the toast and sell it. All the money raised goes to Prudence our sponsored child in Zimbabwe so that she can go to school. Classes take it in turns to write to Prudence and send her gifts.
