Posada
On Wednesday 9thDecember we welcomed the knitted figures of Mary and Joseph from St Philips, St Pauls with Wesley Church into our school to visit our children.
The knitted figures are travelling around the area, to other schools, brownies, colleges, residential homes and places of work in Southport and we were pleased to have them in our school and share the Christmas story.
Posada is a Spanish word meaning ‘inn’. In Mexico two young people dress up as Mary and Joseph and travel from house to house telling people about Jesus and asking them whether they would give them a room for the night. This tradition symbolises getting ready for Christmas and making room for Jesus in our lives, homes, schools and communities.
