Steven Gerrard opens Space for Sport
England football player and Liverpool captain, Steven Gerrard was the surprise celebrity to open Farnborough Road Schools new Space for Sport. This £62k outdoor multi use games area was opened by the footballer on Tuesday 19th October. The 900 pupils from both schools were delighted when Steven Gerrard walked onto the pitch.
He also spent time in both schools answering questions such as, "Who keeps your trophies shiny?" - answer, "My wife Alex", "When you play a match what do you eat and drink at half time?" - answer, "Locozade or water and some players eat Jaffa Cakes", "What is the most number of goals you ever scored in one match?" - answer, "Three", "Can you show us sizzle and a side step?" answer - "I call that a Lollipop", followed by a quick demonstration!
We are very fortunate to have this new sport facility and thank the parents from the PTAs of both school's for raising £30k over the last year. Well done everyone!
